Wilde & Wilde are a Norwich-based Architect’s office, located in the east of England. We provide a range of services for the design and delivery of new buildings, extensions and exterior spaces, that are creative, functional and enjoyable. Our portfolio can be accessed via the `What we do’ button above, and showcases designs for new homes, extensions, re-use and conversion schemes, commercial property, Arts & Community projects.

This new home was designed by wilde and wilde architecture. The design is contemporary, based around a part curved plan with strong central inglenook feature.
The design office is led by partners, Antony Wilde (BArch, DipArch, RIBA I,II,III, ARB), Architect, and Kate Wilde (BArch, RIBA I), Architectural Designer. We like to balance craft and technical detailing, with building efficiency and style.

Plan of Work

For residential Clients, we follow the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) Plan of Work and the commission will advance in stages from 1 to 6, Concept through to Completion (depending on the number of required stages in our appointment). We can advise on the many aspects of planning and design when building your dream home or extension including practical considerations for before and after the works start, working with builders and local craftsmen, through to the installation of low-energy heating equipment and either industry-standard or ecologically-friendly construction techniques.

Many Clients will require Architect input to Planning Application stage. For those Clients wishing to proceed with their Architect beyond Planning, for Building Regulations approvals and detailed design stage, we may be commissioned for this along with contract administration and site inspections until your project is completed with a final Architect’s Certificate.

Southwold home side extension by Wilde and Wilde architects in Norwich
Project focus: this is a planning-stage design for an extension in Southwold, Suffolk: our interpretation of the local context, site constraints and client brief led to a techtonic approach with an expressive beam and rafter structure picking up an original pitched tile roof and low-pitched addition.

Internally, an existing kitchen space which is compromised by being on a busy route through the home, will be cleared to improve the Homeowner's dining area and circulation space, while a new kitchen will be constructed to the side with a light glazed elevation overlooking a charming side garden.
